The Global Alliance of Parliamentarians on Artificial Intelligence (GAP-AI) is an independent, non-partisan, and not-for-profit Inter-parliamentary platform that brings together all important stakeholders; including legislators, industry, academia, civil society and media, to deliberate on and advance the responsible innovation and governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
GAP-AI has taken shape in India through active consultations with leading technology experts, legislators, and tech giants from several countries. Guided by a global vision and a commitment to the collective social good, GAP-AI is building an ecosystem where legislators across the globe, along with other stakeholders, come together to shape the global narrative by placing the Global South at the heart of the mission and to contribute meaningfully to the evolving discourse on the responsible development and governance of AI.
OBJECTIVE
GAP-AI’s mission is to build a common platform and bring a global community of legislators, academia, industry and thought leaders, for the first time ever, under one roof who will contribute to the ecosystem of AI Development and Governance.

This global platform will work on a mission mode on the following aspects:

Integrated Engagement with all AI Stakeholders, Innovators and Regulators;

Formulate best practices in ethical and inclusive policy frameworks;

Strengthen democratic oversight of emerging technologies;

Effectively Collaborate across borders on global AI governance.

Through sustained dialogue, research exchange, policy collaboration and legislative leadership, GAP-AI seeks to ensure that AI innovation advances good governance.
